LUMINEX 3.0

LUMINEX returns for a third year, bringing art and community together in an engaging outdoor exhibition using buildings as the canvas. For one night only, free and open to all, eight multimedia artists will transform a five-block radius in the South Park District of downtown Los Angeles.

Featured artists this year include JOJO ABOT, Refik Anadol, Alice Bucknell, Nao Bustamante, Petra Cortright, Marc Horowitz, Carole Kim, and Sarah Rara, as well as special installations with Los Angeles Video Artists (LAVA).

At LUMINEX, the versatility of digital art is explored through high-end multimedia artworks and made accessible and free for the public to reframe the cultural landscape of Los Angeles. LUMINEX is a world-class exhibition of renowned artists that offers the opportunity for creative voices to connect with the public-at-large outside of a gallery or museum.

Join us for a night of glitz, glamour, and positive music at the My Funny Valentine: Old Hollywood Talent Show! Get ready to be transported back to the golden age of Hollywood as we showcase the best talents in town.

Old Hollywood Talent Show

This fun and educational gathering will feature a positive music-only talent show, raffle prizes, special guest speakers/mentors, and a red carpet experience off Melrose Blvd. The event promises to be entertaining for all ages, with special guest judges adding an extra layer of excitement!

Confirmed special guest judges include:
– 2x Grammy® Nominated Singer / Songwriter Jean Johnson – Witherspoon (credits include Elton John, Madonna, Michael Jackson, Andrae Crouch, and more)
– Singer / Songwriter – Valerie Doby (credits include Michael Jackson, Patti Labelle, Daryl Coley and more)

All student performers will win prizes. It is our goal to encourage our youth to persist in their musical pursuits, recognizing that the creation and learning of music serve as positive outlets for their talents.
Only adults will be competing for 1st ($500), 2nd ($250), and 3rd place ($100).
